From the dugout

I love fastpitch softball. The speed and the skill. The dust and the sun. The sliding pads and the equipment bags. Even the stale donuts and the burned hamburgers are wonderful.

But even more, I love the kids who play fastpitch.

My books are for you, team. Enjoy the game, make it your own. Don’t let anyone take it from you.

It’s okay—in fact it’s awesome—to work your backside off to be the best you can.

But this is your game. I’ll say it again: don’t let anyone take it from you.
