When spring softball begins, Allie's team, the Brookdale Blazers, seems destined for a national championship. The Blazer's coach, who is also Allie and Molly's dad, doesn't think Molly is ready for the major leagues. He sends her to play minor-league ball with the Cookie Monsters. Then an accident makes it impossible for Allie to pitch. Molly is drafted up to the Blazers. Instead of sharing in Blazer glory, Molly finds it's harder than ever to get our of her sister's shadow. Spring season becomes one disaster after another, and both Molly and Allie wonder if they'll ever again enjoy playing the "best game in the world": fast-pitch softball.
